Key Council recommendations on parking (in Annexe A), are ignored in the plan

Little or no presence of Marshalls in most key locations
No result from Council statement on parking

An informative from the Planning Committee Meeting on 21/2/18 states that:
"
The School is advised that members of the Planning Committee request that
parking marshalls are provided by the School on school days to monitor the
Gloucester Road entrance and other pupil drop off points in use by parents at the
beginning and end of the school day to help lessen the number of incidents of
inconsiderate parking / driving behaviour being reported by neighbours. This
measure is to be included in future versions of the School Travel Plan"

The informative continues:
"... [Committee] Members also requested a minuted note be sent to the Head of Parking Enforcement (Jim Marshall) advising that the PlanningCommittee requests that parking control officers are sent on an ad-hoc basis to patrol roads surrounding Hampton Prep School during school peak times to reduce the number of incidents of inconsiderate parking / driving behaviour being reported by neighbours."
These informatives demonstrate that the Council is aware of school-related traffic and parking issues and attempting to reduce them.

These points are mentioned in paragraph 1.4 of the Plan report. However neighbours have reported that there is no consistent presence of parking marshalls. This is a further illustration of the gap between what plans say, and neighbours' experience.

Paragraph 18 of the Decision Note on the previous Travel Plan states that:
"It is not considered that Scotts Drive is acceptable for school parking and neither are Carlisle Road or Wensleydale Gardens."
Parking continues in these streets on a daily basis. The school's measures are not effective .
