The conclusions in the Plan do not fit with neighbours’ experiences

Car journeys have not reduced since last plan

  1. Total number of people (pupils and staff) traveling has increased from 273 to 279
  2. The hands-up survey shows that 10 more pre-prep pupils, 11 less Prep pupils and one more staff member arrive by car compared to previous plan. A net gain of one.

School operations are a main source of parking and congestion problems

  1. This is common experience for neighbours
  2. The parking stress figures (Tables 3.10 - 3.13) show high levels of stress in all areas, ranging from 37% to 94% ("School Maximum" figures).   The 0715 and 1515 figures are an approximation to the steady state parking situation before parents start to arrive. By subtracting  the ‘School Maximum’ figure from the 0715 and 1515 figures figure we get a feel for the effect the school is having. Averaged across streets, days and morning and afternoon, the contribution from the School is 14%. This is about 30%above the average level at 0715 and 1515 which is 48%
